The products manufactured by HAMCO using the immersion process Handles with moulded recesses on the back provide a PRODUCT INNOVATION in the field of operating and adjustment lever handles. This innovative design of recessed handles for rectangular profiles features a glossy, visually smooth, yet non-slip, robust and easy-to-clean surface that meets the highest standards of comfort, durability, resilience and abrasion resistance.

The economically viable production The moulded handles for ball valves in the immersion process ensure an ergonomic, easy-to-grip design without mould separation or burr formation for optimum handling.

With the handles with recesses on the back from HAMCO, you get a standardised handle solution, which nevertheless Can be flexibly adapted to your requirements.
Due to the generally applicable Material properties of PVC In terms of oil, chemical and UV resistance, our standard Covytec material types are suitable for many, predominantly Industrial applications.
Our two phthalate-free and biocompatible special types Covytec 1649 ORGANIC and Covytec 9977 BIO are ideal as a material for the manufacture of physiologically safe adjustment lever handles on therapeutic devices and medical technology equipment.

Process description – Manufacture of dipped PVC recessed handles for ball valves and adjustment levers

Unlike injection moulding, which usually requires a very expensive injection moulding tool, the PVC dipping process is a manufacturing process that only requires a very simple tool. A dipping tool, which has been heated in an oven and has the contour of the moulds on one side, is dipped into a bath full of liquid PVC. When the hot moulding tool comes into contact with the PVC paste, also known in technical circles as plastisol, a skin forms on the shaping immersion cores, which continuously builds up to the desired wall thickness until the end of a defined dwell time in the immersion bath. The material thickness of the grip element to be achieved depends on the temperature of the heated tool, the dwell time of the tool in the immersion bath and the viscosity of the Covytec PVC material.

After removing the dipping tool from the PVC dipping bath, the excess PVC material runs off and drips downwards under the force of gravity.

The dipping tool, which is now coated with a viscous PVC layer, is then reheated in the oven to achieve the rubber-elastic properties of the PVC material as specified in the material data sheet. This important step is also referred to as gelling.

After gelling, the grip elements can be removed from the cores manually using an auxiliary tool.

The process of manufacturing PVC dip moulded parts We describe this in great detail with general design, assembly and quality information on the product pages of the PVC round capsthe Rectangular caps, the product page of the Coating of metallic components and in the knowledge section under Manufacturing processes.

Residue-free from heat transfer media

Our PVC dipped parts are manufactured with a salt-free heat transfer system - completely without lithium nitrate or potassium nitrate - for Maximum purity and safety. The result is particularly clean, dimensionally stable and durable PVC-coated components that meet the highest quality requirements – manufactured in an environmentally friendly manner, while also offering improved occupational safety and easier disposal.

*Light colours that are exposed to outdoor weathering can be made UV-stable by adding a formulation ingredient. Dark colours such as black and anthracite grey are generally UV-resistant.
As both the base material (PVC plastisol) and a UV stabiliser have a yellowish inherent colour, the accuracy of the RAL colour shade is minimally affected. We confirm the colour shade similar to the RAL number.

The standard soft PVC grades used by HAMCO from the Covytec material series are completely independent of the selected standard or special colour and have sufficient elasticity for easy installation.

The flexibility of Covytec PVC materials ensures that the barely noticeable expansion after installation immediately returns to normal and that the technically smooth inner contour of the PVC handle elements fits snugly against the outer wall of the rectangular profile of the lever to be protected. The Static friction as well as from the elongation of the material centrally acting compressive forces ensure the captive hold the mounted adjustment lever handles.

The use of recessed handles in various Colours colours such as red, blue, yellow or green contribute to an immediate visible differentiation distinguishing shut-off valves. For example, if no standards prescribe specific labelling, the sizes of the valves or even the flow media could be communicated via colour.

Since the PVC immersion parts of HAMCO are generally manufactured with a salt-free heat transfer system and thus no residues from the manufacturing process The shiny, smooth and flat surface of this recessed handle design, with a Operating instructions or a company logo using the pad printing process printed to become.
