Toolmaking

Professional toolmaking at HAMCO

HAMCO has a modern in-house toolmaking facility that not only enables us to be independent of external service providers, but also ensures that the company's decades of expertise are preserved. All moulds and tools for the production of dipped parts and injection-moulded parts, as well as the workpiece holders required for the coating of metallic components, are manufactured under our own control, responsibility and time management.

With the design and construction of tools in our CNC machining centres, we ensure that process-stable series tools are available quickly and cost-effectively at all times for the production of your requirements. In this way, we can usually guarantee that your follow-up orders are available within the shortest possible time.

Our in-house toolmaking guarantees precise 3D modelling of the tools using high-quality materials for a long-lasting result. We also ensure optimum product quality with targeted surface treatment.

Mould making for immersion parts

For the production of dipped parts, we build multiple moulds whose dipping cores very accurately reproduce the desired internal geometry of the end product. The internal geometry of a Round cap is represented by cylindrical cores. The length of the round caps can be varied from a practice-orientated minimum height of 10 mm to the maximum length of the cores, which is equivalent to the maximum immersion depth.

In this respect, an immersed Trough handle for round tubes, which shows a correspondingly necessary, concentrated number of elevations and recesses on one side, a comparative image of a precisely realised shaping geometry of the dipping cores inside the dipping part without sharp contours when viewed from the outside. The length of the handles is structurally predetermined and only variable to a limited extent in the area of the shaft length.

In addition, we optimise the shaping geometries of the dip cores to produce wall thicknesses that are as uniform as possible and are also happy to equip larger cavities with support walls, for example, to achieve the desired rigidity of a Ball handle to receive.

For the coating of metallic components such as pliers handles or rubberised wall hooks, we design and build the necessary workpiece holders and fixtures to be able to coat the parts in as large a number as possible at the same time.

Toolmaking for injection moulded parts

For injection moulding, tool construction is much more complex: our engineers and technicians design injection moulds with precise cavities and integrate cooling channels and ejector systems. The flow behaviour of the plastic to be processed and the material-specific properties of the finished moulded part must be taken into account in the plastic-compatible design and mould layout, particularly in the case of multiple moulds.

Modern machine tools for precise results

The CNC machining centres from HAMCO are state-of-the-art machine tools that combine several machining steps in one device and operate automatically using computer control.
Modern CNC machining centres are characterised by short tool change times, extended functions such as rotary and tilting tables and the option of complete machining of complex workpieces. This enables us to deliver results with high precision and consistent quality and to realise even extremely complex parts for you.

Quality at HAMCO

We can produce complex components with high precision and surface quality with the help of machining. Machining is a process for the precise shaping and surface finishing of workpieces. It involves the controlled removal of material using cutting tools to achieve the desired final shape and surface quality. For example, excess material or burrs are removed, fits are created or the surface quality is improved.
