Versatile and adaptable: dip coatings from HAMCO

Dip coating with soft PVC is possible for moulded parts of almost all sizes. This allows great flexibility in the coating of different products and components. Flexible PVC can also be produced in a variety of shapes, sizes and colours, making it an extremely versatile material for industrial coatings.

Soft PVC dip coatings are characterised by a high coefficient of sliding friction on the surface. This makes the coated parts particularly smooth and non-slip. The surface is also quick and easy to clean, which simplifies the maintenance and care of the coated products.

Material diversity in dip coating

PVC coating using the dipping process offers a wide range of possible applications with a variety of material properties.

Different shore hardnesses: With HAMCO you have the choice between approx. 55 Shore A, approx. 60 Shore A, approx. 70 Shore A, approx. 85 Shore A and approx. 96 Shore A.
High temperature paste: The material is suitable for temporary use at up to 220°C.
Medicinal paste: This paste is specially formulated for medical applications.
Biocompatible paste: The material has been specially developed for contact with food or for medical applications and the components have FDA approval.
Bead profile paste: The roughened surface ensures a pleasant feel.
UV-stabilised paste: The material is particularly suitable for outdoor use due to its UV resistance.
ESD-compatible paste: The electrical conductivity of the paste prevents voltage build-up on the component/coating part.

The protective function of the coating

An important function of the soft PVC coating is to protect against damage and injuries caused by sharp edges. This increases the safety and durability of the coated products. In many cases, a direct coating with soft PVC is the optimum solution when a rubber coating is required. The coating provides the desired cushioning and scratch resistance and is also a cost-effective solution, for example for transport and storage racks.

Versatile applications for soft PVC coatings

PVC coating using the dipping process offers a wide range of possible applications with a variety of material properties.

Handle and operating elements: Soft PVC dip coatings are often used for handles, levers and other operating elements. The surface has a better grip and is non-slip, while at the same time being kind to the skin.
Protective layer: In many cases, a dip coating is used as a protective layer to protect the underlying material from corrosion, aggressive liquids and chemicals or damage caused by physical impact.
Electrical insulation: Plasticised PVC is particularly suitable for the electrical insulation of cable insulators and electrical parts or components.
Medical and hygienic applications: Plasticised PVC is also used in sensitive areas such as medical technology, food technology and children's toys.
Complex geometries: The dipping process is particularly suitable for objects with complicated shapes and parts that need to be coated evenly and without gaps.
