Versatile and adaptable: dip coatings from HAMCO

Dip coatings with soft PVC of the Covytec material series are suitable for protecting the surfaces of metal parts and components of almost all sizes and geometries.
The process allows a free choice of different hardnesses and colours while at the same time making the PVC material suitable for industrial, therapeutic or medical applications.

Optional material properties such as increased UV resistance, ESD capability and detectability make PVC an extremely versatile material for coatings and rubber linings.

The glossy surfaces of soft PVC-Covytec dip coatings are also characterised by high coefficients of sliding friction. This makes the surface of the coated parts particularly smooth and non-slip. They are also quick and easy to clean, which makes it possible to maintain, care for and disinfect the coated products.

Application examples in dip coating

PVC coating using the dipping process offers a wide range of possible applications with a variety of material properties.

The protective function of the coating

An important function of the soft PVC coating is to protect against damage and injuries caused by sharp edges. This increases the safety and durability of the coated products. In many cases, a direct coating with soft PVC is the optimum solution when a rubber coating is required. The coating provides the desired cushioning and scratch resistance and is also a cost-effective solution, for example for transport and storage racks.

The variety of Covytec PVC materials ensures a wide range of applications

  • Covytec HT: Temporary use for high temperatures up to 220°C.
  • Covytec MED: specially formulated for medical applications.
  • Covytec BIOspecially developed for the Contact with food, for medical and therapeutic applications, with FDA approval for the Market access in the USA
  • Covytec PERL: the special Bead profile look ensures a skin-friendly feel.
  • UV-stabilisedOptional property for coloured coatings for permanent outdoor use
  • ESD-capable: optional property for Electrical voltages on the component/coating part.
  • Detectable: optional property in the Environment of the food industry

The PVC coating process are described in great detail with generally applicable design, assembly and quality instructions on the product page of the Coating with PVC and in the knowledge section under Manufacturing processes.
