If off-the-shelf parts are not suitable for a particular application, HAMCO manufactures bespoke plastic parts to meet individual requirements. These may involve a specific geometry, particular material properties, unusual wall thicknesses or a specific function of the component.
HAMCO supports product developers and designers in developing a production-ready plastic solution based on these requirements. A specific manufacturing process is not determined from the outset: we work together to assess which solution makes technical sense and is economically viable.
Our aim is not simply to supply a requested part as quickly as possible. Rather, we would like to work with you to find the technically and economically sensible A plastics solution for your application find.
In doing so, we consider the task at hand regardless of any previously defined manufacturing process.
Whether you already have a detailed drawing or CAD data for a plastic component, or simply wish to describe your technical requirements to begin with – we want to understand the background to your enquiry and what is important to you in terms of the solution.
To this end, we ask questions – including those that go beyond the usual scope:
What is the component intended to do? What loads will it be subjected to? What material properties are required? How will the part be assembled, and under what conditions will it be used?
However, other factors may also be crucial in finding the right solution:
What budget constraints need to be taken into account? Apart from the technical and commercial requirements, what are your priorities? What do you consider particularly important?
Only once we understand the interrelationships can we assess which solution is suitable for your application and then a meaningful offer to draw up a proposal for the bespoke plastic component, taking into account the technical and economic constraints.
HAMCO offers a range of plastics processing services to support the implementation of these projects. Custom-made diving equipment, Coating and Castings production are designed for processing PVC. In the Injection moulding We process a range of plastics and can therefore also produce solutions using other suitable materials.
As the underlying Manufacturing processes We explain in detail how they work and how they differ in our knowledge centre.
The problem defines the solution – and the solution determines the appropriate manufacturing process.
Not every individual enquiry requires a completely new solution. Time and again, technical reviews reveal that a suitable solution is already available in HAMCO Standard range is available, or an existing version can serve as the basis for the bespoke solution.
If this requires a different geometry, we manufacture the new tool required in-house Toolmaking.
That could Reducing the time and cost involved in voting and often makes it possible to significantly faster implementation.
For our customers, this means: we are not looking for a new solution as a matter of principle, but rather for the the right solution for the application in question.
Customised and bespoke plastic components are used in a wide variety of applications. The requirements for these components can therefore be just as varied Material, geometry, function and operating conditions be.
Industry-specific or regulatory requirements can also play an important role right from the technical assessment stage of an individual solution. Our experience across a range of application areas helps us to take such framework conditions into account at an early stage.
We are familiar with requirements relevant to the European market, such as REACH and RoHS. For projects targeting international markets, country-specific regulations can also be taken into account in our technical assessments.
Even when it comes to bespoke plastic solutions, we want to avoid unnecessary waiting times. That is why you will receive confirmation of receipt within 24 hours regarding your enquiry, including the case number and the contact details of your designated contact person.
We will then review the technical brief and work with you to clarify the requirements necessary for a sound assessment and the preparation of a quotation. How quickly a specific quotation can be drawn up depends on the complexity of the task in question.
Whether it’s a detailed drawing, CAD data or, to begin with, just a technical idea: please get in touch with us to discuss your requirements.
Together, we will examine, which engineering plastics solution is best suited to your application – and how it can be reliably implemented in production.
