Assembly of wind turbines

PVC round caps are an important element in the complex process of wind turbine construction. Their use contributes significantly to the efficient, safe and high-quality assembly of wind turbines.
HAMCO supplies round caps that are used in the assembly of wind turbines. To ensure the safety of fitters when assembling wind turbines, the fastening screws are fitted with round caps to minimise the risk of injury. The round caps also serve as protection against external influences such as erosion. The material is stabilised against UV radiation and is therefore very durable in outdoor use.

Areas of application for round caps for wind turbines

Transport and assembly protection: The round caps are used to protect the open ends of the individual tower sections during transport and assembly. They prevent moisture, dirt and foreign bodies from entering the inside of the tower.
Occupational safety: The round caps cover sharp edges at the tower ends and thus reduce the risk of injury to fitters. They provide a non-slip surface, which is particularly important when workers have to stand on the tower sections.
Weather protection: During assembly interruptions, the PVC caps protect the open tower ends from the weather. This is particularly important to prevent corrosion and damage to the joints.

Solar thermal energy and photovoltaics: PVC moulded parts are used for various components in solar thermal systems, such as pipes, connectors and covers. In photovoltaics, PVC parts are used in the encapsulation of control electronics, where self-extinguishing compounds are used.

Hydrogen technology: PVC components can also be used in some areas of the hydrogen infrastructure, for example for covers or housings for auxiliary components.
