* In order to be able to demould shaft handles made of soft PVC reliably, we require a moulding depth depending on the inner diameter. Minimum wall thickness of 1.5 mm at the open end of the handles. We will be happy to tell you the required minimum wall thickness in our meaningful offers with.
The wave handles from HAMCO, manufactured using the dip moulding process, are the perfect solution for all applications requiring robust and ergonomic handle systems. The PVC dip moulding manufacturing process enables handles with shiny, visually smooth, yet non-slip, easy-to-clean surfaces that meet the highest standards of comfort, durability, resilience and abrasion resistance.
The economically viable production The wave handles are manufactured using a pressureless PVC dipping process without expensive injection moulding tools, ensuring an ergonomic, easy-grip design without mould separation or burr formation for optimum handling.
With the wave handles from HAMCO, you get a standardised handle solution, which nevertheless Can be flexibly adapted to your requirements.
Due to the generally applicable Material properties of PVC In terms of oil, chemical and UV resistance, our standard Covytec material types are suitable for many, predominantly Industrial applications.
Our two phthalate-free and biocompatible special types Covytec 1649 ORGANIC and Covytec 9977 BIO are ideal as a material for the manufacture of physiologically safe handles for therapeutic sports equipment and medical technology devices.
Our dipped PVC handles are particularly versatile and suitable for many professional applications in industry and trade, even for handles and operating elements in orthopaedics and medical technology. Typical areas of application are
The PVC dipping process is a manufacturing process that, unlike injection moulding, requires only a very simple tool. A dipping tool, which has been heated in an oven and is equipped with ribs and the contour of the circumferential waves, is dipped into a bath full of liquid PVC. When the hot moulding tool comes into contact with the PVC paste, also known as plastisol, a skin forms on the moulding dip cores, which builds up to the desired wall thickness by the end of a defined dwell time in the dip bath. The wall thickness to be achieved depends on the temperature of the tool, the dwell time of the tool in the immersion bath and the viscosity of the PVC material.
After removing the immersion tool from the immersion bath, the excess PVC material runs off and drips downwards.
The corrugated handle immersion tool, which is still covered with a viscous PVC layer, is then reheated in the oven to achieve the rubber-elastic properties of the PVC material. This step is also known as gelling.
After gelling, the wave handles can be removed from the cores using an auxiliary tool.
The process of manufacturing PVC dip moulded parts We describe this in great detail with general design, assembly and quality information on the product pages of the PVC round capsthe Rectangular caps, the product page of the Coating of metallic components and in the knowledge section under Manufacturing processes.
Our PVC dipped parts are manufactured with a salt-free heat transfer system - completely without lithium nitrate or potassium nitrate - for Maximum purity and safety. The result is particularly clean, dimensionally stable and durable PVC dipped parts and PVC coatings that meet the highest quality requirements - manufactured in an environmentally friendly way, with improved occupational safety and easier disposal.
*Light colours that are exposed to outdoor weathering can be made UV-stable by adding a formulation ingredient. Dark colours such as black and anthracite grey are generally UV-resistant.
As both the base material (PVC plastisol) and a UV stabiliser have a yellowish inherent colour, the accuracy of the RAL colour shade is minimally affected. We confirm the colour shade similar to the RAL number.
The standard soft PVC type used by HAMCO Covytec 6691 With a Shore A hardness of 68, it offers sufficient elasticity for secure mounting, regardless of the standard or special colour selected. The same applies to the significantly harder version of the wave handles with a Shore A hardness of 85, which requires more force to install on a significantly larger round profile. Heating to 50-75°C and applying a glass cleaner to the round profile usually helps to avoid installation difficulties.
In your role as a strategic buyer, as a contact person in the design and development department, as a technician, quality engineer, production or operations manager, you are involved in other areas of the company, detailed information about handles, especially about Available dimensions from existing tools.

Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) is a tried-and-tested plastic material that has been used in industry and everyday life for decades. It offers several advantages for handle solutions:
1. optimum grip
The slightly flexible and slip-resistant surface of the 68 Shore A soft PVC type Covytec 6691 ensures a secure grip. Whether lifting, pulling or working under light loads - PVC effectively prevents slipping.
2. pleasant feel
The material feels warm, smooth and non-slip at the same time. The comfort is maintained even after prolonged use.
3. high load capacity
PVC handles are impact-resistant, abrasion-resistant and can withstand typical stresses such as pressure, rubbing or perspiration.
4. weather and UV-resistant
The general material property of UV resistance of the PVC material can optionally be further increased for outdoor tools, garden or sports equipment, especially with light-coloured handles.
5. cost-efficient & durable
The tried-and-tested material PVC offers an optimum ratio of workability, durability, price and convenience.
