The company is thus creating additional capacity to speed up development processes, evaluate components at an early stage and implement technical adjustments efficiently.

Speed is a decisive competitive factor, especially in the development of technical plastic components. Design engineers and technical purchasers expect short development times, reliable statements on feasibility and functional sample parts as early as possible. This is precisely where the new 3D printing technology comes in.

Evaluate prototypes at an early stage and reduce development times

In traditional development processes, the first components are often only available after mould construction or via external sample production. This means longer waiting times, higher costs and limited flexibility in the event of changes.

With the new 3D printing system, prototypes can now be manufactured directly at the Oberhonnefeld site. This gives design engineers the opportunity to test components as real hardware in the early stages of development - directly in their hands and directly on the product.

This approach offers great advantages, especially for complex geometries. Although CAD data provides important information, many details can only be reliably assessed on the actual component. This includes, among other things:

Geometric fits

Installation situations

Ease of assembly

Accessibility

Function of individual connecting elements

Possible collisions in the overall system

The direct availability of prototypes means that customisations can be implemented much faster. Development cycles are shortened, coordination becomes more efficient and risks in subsequent mould construction can be reduced at an early stage.

More safety before mould making

Mould construction is one of the most cost-intensive and time-consuming project phases in plastics technology. Changes after the mould has been created often cause additional costs and can significantly extend project durations.

The option of producing components in advance as functional samples creates additional security here. Critical areas can be checked and optimised before the start of series production tools.

This is a decisive advantage, especially for sophisticated technical components with tight tolerances or complex installation spaces. Customer consultations also benefit from this: development statuses can be discussed and evaluated much more easily using real components than exclusively using digital models.

For technical purchasers, this primarily means more planning security. Potential adjustments are recognised earlier and development risks are reduced.

Processing of glass fibre and carbon fibre reinforced materials

A special feature of the new system is the ability to process glass fibre-reinforced and carbon fibre-reinforced materials. This results in robust and resilient functional samples that are much closer to later series applications.

Fibre-reinforced plastics play a central role in many technical applications. They combine low weight with high stability and good mechanical properties. Such materials are frequently used in the following areas in particular:

Mechanical engineering

Automation technology

Electrical engineering

Automotive engineering

Industrial enclosure technology

Fastening and connection solutions

With the new 3D printing system, the relevant properties can be taken into account at an early stage of development. This enables realistic tests and more reliable statements about the subsequent series solution.

Carbon fibre-reinforced materials, for example, offer high rigidity and low weight. Glass fibre-reinforced materials impress with their good strength and economical material properties. For prototypes and functional models, this results in significantly better possibilities for evaluating mechanical requirements.

More efficient development processes for customer projects

By investing in the new 3D printing system, HAMCO is specifically strengthening its own development and innovation processes. Customers benefit from faster coordination, realistic prototypes and greater flexibility during product development.

Especially in technically demanding projects, the speed of development often determines the success of the project. The ability to make components physically available at short notice and test them directly in the application context offers clear advantages here.

Additive manufacturing also improves communication between development, design, purchasing and production. Real sample parts create a shared understanding of requirements, functions and optimisation potential.

New 3D printing system at HAMCO enables faster prototypes, shorter development times and greater planning reliability.

[5

post-4118","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-blog
["GET
